It's TODAY! Looking forward to being at our LACE Campaign table as part of the "EXPOsed" event at the Underwear Affair to cheer on our LACE OFF team of Michelle, Lizzy and Carmen. Here's Michelle sporting one of our LACE team shirts! C'mon down and check out our table. (Rumour has it there may be doughnuts!)

In the Hello Cool World spirit of 'multi-causing' a term coined last year by Lizzy & David, we're sharing our table with our fabulous Immunity Advocates we met creating the content for ImmunizeBC's new campaign - IHaveImmunity.com. Pictured in our banner are Audra and her daughter Alexandria who are making an appearance today at our info table! You can also watch the video we made of their familiy's story on the site.
Hello Cool World is proud to have worked on both campaigns and to make the link between Mothers and Daughters. Moms need regular Paps to protect their health, but now there is a vaccine that will protect their daughters against HPV, the cause of cervical cancer.
Katherine Dodds AKA "Kat" is the founder of Good Company Communications and HelloCoolWorld.com. Trained in renegade advertising & branding through her work with Adbusters in the '90s, Kat's early induction into the possibilities of the web-world was inspired by the term hypertext, which she immediately found comforting. She is dedicated to cause-related communication and to the development and use of tools that promote democratic processes.
Bella and Michelle came down with a table full of goodies to attend the Opt Sexhibition, a part of the Opt 50th Anniversary Celebration. We chatted with some lovely attendees about our sexual health campaigns, including LACE, Around the Kitchen Table, and I Have Immunity. Then we thought we would make a little video to share with everyone!
PS - We know our video text is backwards but we did that deliberately. Just to be interesting.

There is so much going on I hardly know where to start... First here's a sneak peek at our new campaign for ImmunizeBC. These have not even been sent to print yet, so this is Hello Cool World insiders first glance at our Zoom ads launching later in April. During the past two months our photographer Nancy Bleck has photographed over 40 real people whose stories will soon be seen on the new ImmunizeBC website.
And that's not all, April is off and running. First off: Our #4Eva movement for organ donation PSA for BC Transplant is now airing on TV! Watch for news on this campaign soon. You can see it on 65RedRoses.com. And next week LACE is in again for spring, this time we will be at Vancouver Fashion Week. Fashion Week is followed by Organ Donation Week then Immunization Awareness Week, and then there's the Opt Ready For Pleasure Gala -- overlapping with Hot Docs and DOXA where we are community partners on the world premiere of Raw Opium...I'm out of breath... read on!
Are you a parent with a daughter who is between grades 6 and 11?
Hello Cool World is looking for advocates for healthy families to participate in an information sharing session in Vancouver.
We know you’re passionate about supporting health for your loved ones—that’s why LACE Campaign was such a huge success! Together we worked to promote women’s health, culminating in hundreds of women from all around the province taking control of their health and getting a Pap test during Pap Awareness Week 2010 in October.
We were so glad to learn that there’s massive support around BC for initiatives to promote preventative health measures like Pap tests—so we’re launching a new campaign with ImmunizeBCto spread the word about the value of immunizations: I Have Immunity.
We’re starting off with a focus on one of the newest immunizations available, which prevents infection by Human Papililomavirus (HPV). More than 80% of women will be infected with strains of HPV during their lifetime. Some HPV infections lead to cervical cancer, from which 50 women in BC die each year. The vaccine protects against the strains of HPV responsible for 70% of cervical cancer cases.

It's pumpkin carving day! But first...a little revelling in LACE!
It is Halloween, but all I can think of is LACE. There's also lots going on in the coming weeks at Hello Cool World - but before I tell you about Media Democracy Day, the new films we are working on, and the soon to be ramped up Campaign For Organ Donation centred around Eva Markvoort's story in 65_Red Roses... I just have to take a moment to revel in this past week of Pap celebrations. Because it was a resounding success!
