TIFF protest (1)

It's one of those September moments where I don't know where to start! We have new titles in our webstore, and new projects on the go... Last week, just past the four year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina we send out an e'Zine themed around the DVD launch of the Academy Award nominated TROUBLE THE WATER a film I personally found profoundly moving. And now, as TIFF launches I feel compelled to add my voice to those, including Danny Glover, one of the exec producers of Trouble the Water, and our Cool friend Naomi Klein, as well as our own Mark Achbar, who are currently protesting The Toronto Film Festival's inaugeral city-to-city spotlight on Tel Aviv.
Now this is the part where it should go without saying, but I will say -- I am opposed to censorship, of films, filmmakers, and opinions, but I say, like Naomi Klein, that this is not the moment to celebrate Israel after what the world watched happen last December and how the year began: witnessing war crimes in Gaza.
