Hello local documentary fans! Don't forget to check out DOXA in Vancouver next week-there's a great variety of films for you to take in.
Here's a quick description of the festival:
The 2007 DOXA Documentary Film Festival kicks off on May 22 for six days and nights of documentaries from around the world and here at home. With more than double the program than in previous years, and subject matter ranging from the building of enormous human pyramids in Catalonia (Castells) to the buying and selling of human organs (Iranian Kidney Bargain Sale), it’s difficult to summarize the highlights. Look for the full program details about biker grannies (Trannies and Grannies), Himalayan hockey grrrls (Thin Ice), the power of music (Stroke/ Música Inspiração) a wide range of social justice issues and much, much more at www.doxafestival.ca
