From their press release: Vancouver's own Make Believe Media is proud to announce the premiere of its new one hour natural history documentary narrated by David Suzuki for CBC's The Nature of Things.
For the Love of Elephants is an intimate look at the elephant-human bond that is formed in an elephant rehabilitation centre just outside Nairobi, Kenya. Narrated by David Suzuki, the film takes viewers inside the emotional world of baby orphaned African elephants and their compassionate keepers at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Through hard work, love and dedication, we watch as this expert team create a unique human-elephant family and nurture the orphaned elephants for up to 10 years until they can be returned to the wild.
These majestic and playful creatures are a key part of the African ecosystem but unfortunately they are a species under threat and in constant danger from poachers and habitat loss. For the Love of Elephants hopes to share the fragile world in which they live and help viewers understand how and why we can all play a role in their protection.
