Photoshoot at Sugar Studios!

This past week the Hello Cool World team has been spending a lot of time at Sugar Studios, working with families from around Greater Vancouver on the "I Have Immunity" campaign to promote vaccination for British Columbians. We think the results are going to be amazing, and we were glad to have the opportunity to hear from real people about why vaccination is so important to them.
The first focus of this campaign is the HPV vaccine, which protects against the strains of HPV that cause 70% of cervical cancers. Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer in women under 45, and every year 6000 women in BC are treated for pre-cancerous cervical changes caused by HPV.
We spent two evenings in Sugar Studio B, focus testing our preliminary materials and hearing from teens and their parents about what they know about HPV, their reasons for choosing to vaccinate, and why they think some people don't immunize their daughters. We had great insights into our materials and also how we can better appeal to the people who aren't convinced by a cancer-preventing vaccine.
The weekend was spent downstairs in Studio A shooting video and photos. Kids of all ages and their parents had fun tossing around our "I Have Immunity" frisbees and demonstrating their prowess at jumping for photos. We're so excited to see the final products-- and we hope you are too!
