HAPPY BUY NOTHING DAY!
By
Katherine Dodds
As is our annual tradition, we are closing our webstore Friday, November 28 for
Buy Nothing Day. Created many years ago by Vancouver artist and activist
Ted Dave and taken up by Adbusters, Buy Nothing Day is now an international day of anti-consumer activism with events all around the world. It's timed to coincide with Black Friday, when Americans traditionally start their post-Thanksgiving shopping orgy that lasts until Christmas.
Buy Nothing. Give Something Big.
Until January 5, 2009, we are donating all proceeds from the Campaign 4 Corporate Harm Reduction and profits from our webstore to
Inter Pares' alternative holiday giving campaign: Give Something Big. In the meantime, check out Give Something Big and come back to the Hello Cool World webstore when it re-opens on Saturday, November 29. Any purchases you make will help bring a joyous and just holiday season for all.
