Hello Cool World Celebrates World Water Day March 22

Tomorrow, March 22nd is International World Water Day. Officially declared in 1992 when the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution, World Water Day is meant to create awareness about the over 1 billion people world wide that lack access to clean, safe drinking water and to motivate action.

One of The Corporation's biggest supporters, the Council of Canadians is a leader when it comes to protecting Canada's water. Tomorrow they will be organizing events across the country to promote water as a public resource and a human right. Executive Produced by The Corporation's Mark Achbar, BLUE GOLD: WORLD WATER WARS explores the fact that in every corner of the globe, we are polluting, diverting, pumping, and wasting our limited supply of fresh water at an expediential level as population and technology grows. The film follows numerous worldwide examples of people fighting for their basic right to water, including Council of Canadian's national chairperson, Maude Barlow.

For 111 days and over 4800 miles, these three determined individuals prove that the impossible is possible.  Throughout this life-altering run, the runners promote H2O Africa, a charity that strives to promote clean drinking water for impoverished areas.
