WATERLIFE AT TINSELTOWN VANCOUVER ON FRIDAY

By Katherine Dodds

Hi Hello CoolWorlders!

We've had a few delays along the way as we prepared to usher Waterlife in to Vancouver. It was well received at DOXA, but now WE NEED EVERYONE'S HELP TO SPREAD THE WORD! We are twittering about it via the #waterlifefilm hashtag.

-- Kat, and now more from Mark:

"What I admire about this film is its remarkable ability to inform but not overload, to assign responsibility without pointing fingers, and to tell a tragic, cautionary tale, while washing your soul in exquisite imagery.

Please see Waterlife during its first weekend in town. I can't emphasize how critical it is to the film's future. Distributors decide a film's future based on its first weekend's box office numbers. It's as true for Hollywood blockbusters as it is for this film. Only this film has an ad budget roughly equal to a Hollywood producer's weekend cocaine supply. Not that I would know. I'm just sayin'..."  -- Mark Achbar

Saturday July 18 (Vancouver) - Council of Canadians and Rivershed Society of BC discuss local water issues following the 12:45 screening at Tinseltown

SPEAKERS: Fin Donnelly, Rivershed Society of BC (RSBC) & a representative from the Council of Canadians.

Fin Donnelly is the founder and Executive Director of the Rivershed Society of BC, a non-profit organization with a vision of salmon flourishing in our rivers and people flourishing in our communities. Before starting the Society, Fin swam the 1,400 km length of the Fraser to draw attention to the plight of this mighty salmon river. Fin will talk about his swim, the RSBC's education and leadership programs, and ways people can protect BC’s riversheds.

Founded in 1985, the Council of Canadians is Canada’s largest citizens’ organization, with members and chapters across the country. They work to protect Canadian independence by promoting progressive policies on fair trade, clean water, energy security, public health care, and other issues of social and economic concern to Canadians.

Please send an email to your friends and get everyone out this weekend!!!!! This link will allow you to add your own message to our current email about waterlife.
