Unfortunately alcohol and drug facilitated sexual assault happens. We all need to take action to make it stop. If we watch and intervene we can keep the fun in and predators out. If we talk about the problem we can create a 'chilly climate' for predators, and make make bars and clubs an inclusive, safe, and fun place for everyone—except the predators.

How Do You 'Keep the Vibe' While 'Fighting the Crime?'

We all need to make a conscious choice to watch out for each other. Of course you should protect your drink and watch your friend's drinks, but it's more than just that. Many people are reluctant to intervene to prevent a potential sexual assault because they are not sure what to do. Or if they see something happening to someone they don't know, they are afraid to get involved or may think it is none of their business. But ending sexual assault and keeping the party scene safe is everyone’s business. If we see something suspicious, we need to take action immediately and find ways to intervene safely to block predatory acts.

Everyone has the right to party safely! We must make ourselves, our friends, and bars and clubs accountable and responsible. We do this by speaking out and not looking the other way when we see a suspicious situation. We need to stand together to demand safe places to have fun and meet people. We must raise our voices and take action against predatory behaviour.

Every single person at the party has the power to create change. We go out to have fun, so let's not have predators ruin our good time. When a community of men and women stands united against the predators among us, they will know they are not going to get away with this behavior easily.

Let's take the power back! Now is the time to educate one another about sexual assault and that sex is not sex if it isn’t consensual. It’s rape. Together we can stop predators and the harm they cause.
