What is the Onyx Program?

Onyx provides support services to sexually exploited youth. This is a voluntary support program that assists male, female and transgendered clients under the age of 19 years old. Services are offered to those who are frequenting or residing in: Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore, Belcarra, Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Vancouver, Richmond, North Shore, Sea to Sky, Sunshine Coast, Powell River, Bella Coola and Bella Bella.

How can I make a referral?

Anyone can make a referral to the Onyx Program. This includes: Youth (self-referral), Friends, Family, School, Community Programs, Police, Ministry of Children and Family Development.

What does the name Onyx mean?

The Onyx Program is named after the gemstone which is said to release negative emotions such as sorrow and grief. It is used to end difficult relationships, bring spiritual inspiration and can enhance self control. It can help to stimulate the power of wise decision-making and encourage happiness and good fortune.

Black stones have protective energies whish fortify self confidence and responsibility; and can encourage a healthy sense of self. It further helps one to follow their life path, and to become the master of one’s own future.
