By Bella Sie, October 23, 2011

Pap Awareness Week is here and the Bevel Up Outreach blog would like to remind all cervixes to get screened October 23-29. Last year, LACE Campaign interviewed street nurse, Sarah Levine to learn more about Paps. Watch the video to learn about what to expect during a Pap test, and why they're so important! You can find out more about the LACE Campaign and find a clinic on their site.

BEVEL UP NEWS & EVENTS

Oct 20, 2010 | Bevel Up is coming to New York October 25, 26 & 28!

The Center for Health, Media & Policy at Hunter College has invited Bevel Up for a very special event. On Monday, October 25th, the CHMP brings together some of New York’s top experts in harm reduction with two of the nurses from the BC Street Nursing Program, Juanita Maginley and Fiona Gold.

On Tuesday, October 26, a screening of “Bevel Up” with Q&A will be held at Hunter College Brookdale Campus. This event is for students of nursing, medicine, public policy, public health, and other related fields from within Hunter College and other NYC colleges/universities.

Following that, on October 28, Juanita Maginley and Fiona Gold will be at the New York Academy of Medicine’s Ninth International Conference on Urban Health. The nurses’ only event, which is open to the public, is a prestigious conference that brings together international experts for a full screening and discussion of harm reduction in varying urban settings.
