Heading to Sunny Side of the Docs this weekend!

Time is flying by, if i wasn't so busy I'd be watching more "Ghost in the Shell"  —I have fallen in love with Major Motoko, fembot fantastique!

Instead, I've been trying to pin down the simple story of what this film is about. Hint -- maybe it's actually a film about *women*!  Anyway, I was re-reading an essay in "The Uncanny Experiments in Cyborg Culture" where Toshiya Ueno writes about Japanamation and Techno-orientalism. Heady stuff. His view is that Japan is a "sub-empire" of signs. At any rate, the analysis of Fembot Motoko's identity crisis is an interesting one...
