Circles of Understanding

Client: Vancouver Aboriginal Community Policing Centre Society

Circles of Understanding is a project that fosters understanding and healing through sharing lived experiences of those impacted by the legacy of the residential school system, in order to empower urban Aboriginal individuals and communities.

Hello Cool World undertook the design of 10 display banners and an educational brochure to share these stories.

I Have Immunity

Client: ImmunizeBC

I Have Immunity is a grassroots campaign using the experiences of real families to raise awareness about the value of immunizations. We had multiple photo and video shoots where we recruited advocates and created materials to feature their stories.

We also came up with the versatile logos and have rolled out several first mini-campaigns focusing on the vaccines for HPV, flu, and those aimed at babies and young children, as well as Aboriginal audiences.

We've Got A Room For You - Bus Ad

Client: Options for Sexual Health

Taking care of your sexual health is sexy. That’s the message being promoted in the ad we created for our long-time cohorts, Options for Sexual Health, Canada’s largest non-profit provider of sexual health services.

The 2010 ad can be seen on almost every bus in British Columbia and features the 1-800-SEX-SENSE info line.

LACE Campaign

Client: BC Cancer Agency (Cervical Cancer Screening Program)

Working closely with the target audience of young women, we created an awareness campaign about the importance of Pap testing. We conducted research, developed the concept, and recruited "action teams" of volunteers to film guerrilla-style.

We created a TV PSA, developed an email reminder tool, and spread the word by blogging & using social media. LACE Campaign was also used to promote Pap Awareness Week 2010.

Star In Your Own Stories

Client: BC Centre for Disease Control (Chee Mamuk)

A video workshop series conducted in cooperation with Chee Mamuk that teaches First Nations youth how to create their own sexual health campaigns.

Since 2007, four have been created so far: Stand True, Step it Up, Strong Path, and By My Name.

The Super Power Project

Client: Women Against Violence Against Women

With funding from the BC Ministry of Community Services, we developed a youth-driven multi-media project to prevent gendered violence. With the help of project partners, we conducted multiple video workshops and launched an online campaign.

In 2009, we created a new bus ad that promoted a contest for youth on our blog.

The Corporation in the Grade 8 Classroom

A short film by Good Company's founder, Katherine Dodds, featuring the filmmakers who travel to Essex, Ontario to see what a Grade 8 teacher and his class have been up to all year with their film, The Corporation.

Picturing Transformation, Nexw-áyantsut

Client: Uts'am Witness Society, Chief Bill Williams, Nancy Bleck

Uts'am/Witness was a 10 year cross-cultural project that brought together members of the Squamish Nation, wilderness advocates, artists, arts groups and the general public to forge new links between people and the land.

Now Hello Cool World is helping the founders create a book to take the project into the future. Pre-sales are available on our webstore.

Uts'am/Witness Project Flyer

Working closely with the Teen Advisory Committee for the Condomania school program, we developed both the website and many promotional materials to use in school.

Planetahead Transit Platform Ads

Client: Vancouver Coastal Health Authority

While we created interior bus ads for Planetahead, most were stolen due to their popularity. We created harder-to-steal transit platform ads for Vancouver's SkyTrain and launched them with a group of teens who handed out condoms to passersby.

Campaign Communicate

Client: First Nations Education Steering Committee

We conducted sexual health and video production workshops with 60 youth at the Gathering Our Voices Aboriginal Youth Conference 2006. From these we created five short films, a condom package and a campaign logo.
