Eva’s Goodbye

By · February 14, 2010
Filed in #4Eva, Blog

This is a hard post for me and everyone involved in the film 65_RedRoses to make.

Eva wants to HEAR FROM YOU.

To post comments directly to Eva’s blog and view her final goodbye video please visit:

http://65redroses.livejournal.com/

(There is a link to her blog on this website page as well – if you look to your right).

Eva has not just been the subject of our film “65_RedRoses,” she was our key collaborator – an incredible talent not just in front of the lens, but behind it as well. Eva wanted to be a part of a documentary that could really effect people and show how much of an impact one person can make by becoming a donor. She has worked tirelessly with us to promote the film, which she hopes will continue to touch the lives of people around the world.

If you haven’t already registered to become an organ donor, WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU WAITING FOR? Register today. Pass on this website to friends and family, join our TWITTER group, write to your government to finally change legislation in your country. Here in Canada, we would like to see that everyone becomes automatically registered as an organ donor, and if they don’t wish to be one, THEY should have to make the added effort of having to get their names taken off the donor list. The goal of the documentary “65_RedRoses” has always been to spread awareness about the importance of organ donation and working to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.

Eva, I am so grateful that as a filmmaker I got the chance to work with you and share your story.

Love always,

Mish

For YoU!

Do you remember me,
Do you remember anything?
Don’t pretend I didn’t make you laugh,
File it under fun from the past.
Well, I’m looking ’round the room
Some of the people I’ve loved.
Guess I remember everything
File it under fun from the past.
I could have been a contender, a contender for your love
I would heve given your everything if I only knew hou, only knew hou,
I could have been a contender, a contender for you love.
File it under fun from the past,
File it under fun from the past.
It was only you, it was always only you.
I never saw what other people bought,
I never cared what they thought.
Well, I’m looking ’round the room, some of the people I’ve loved,
Guess I remember everything.

Do you remember anything?

Your Love

Dear Eva
Your story will be always in my mind.I have seen you today in TV.Be brave -you will !See you -Mary from Poznań in Poland.

Dear Eva,
I come from Polad (Warsaw). I saw your movie yesterday in polish TV. From yesterdy you’re my Hero. I thought, after the transplantation you won, and than in the evening they said in the same TV you’re saying goodbye. I was shocked.

I still believe it is hope. In Poland we say: Hope dies as the latest one. I believe it and that’s why I’m writing. I’m sending you love as a person who believes in hope and sense of fighting as you did.

I hope my english is understendable.

I’m thinking of you and sending you my love and hope. I will do it every single day.

I truly believe in you.

All the best.
Ela

Dear Eva!!!
My English is very poor, sorry for that, but would very much like.
We are deeply moved by your story (video given in Poland yesterday).
Hold on !!! We are with you Eva.

AndyS

Dear Eve,

Hello

I’m writing from Poland.

Today I saw on TV Programme information about this so amazing girl…

I wrote a song for Her and I want to send this to her ASAP

Would you be so kind and help me?

Here is the song ( maybe there will be someone who will able to prepare the melody ???

65 roses goes now to you
We never forget for sure & all You..
You gave us the power
Showed how to fight
And most important
You opened the heart &

Chorus:
You open the door, the door to haven
We will meet you somewhere and ever&
You open the door to the better world&

And some day, some night
When we will look through the heaven
We will find the new star
She will be shining for ever

One rose but so strong and tough
So much love, never enough
You gave an example and way how to live
And everyone say it is hard to believe

Chorus
You open….

Odcięli aniołom skrzydła
bo dawały wolność.
Odarli ich z szat
gdyż za piękne były.
Obrzucili je błotem
bo białą skórę miały
Teraz stoją
Ranne, nagie, brudne
lecz nadal doskonałe…

Anna Laetitia Barbauld – Life
LIFE! I know not what thou art,
But know that thou and I must part;
And when, or how, or where we met,
I own to me ‘s a secret yet.
But this I know, when thou art fled,
Where’er they lay these limbs, this head,
No clod so valueless shall be
As all that then remains of me.

O whither, whither dost thou fly?
Where bend unseen thy trackless course?
And in this strange divorce,
Ah, tell where I must seek this compound I?
To the vast ocean of empyreal flame
From whence thy essence came
Dost thou thy flight pursue, when freed
From matter’s base encumbering weed?
Or dost thou, hid from sight,
Wait, like some spell-bound knight,
Through blank oblivious years th’ appointed hour
To break thy trance and reassume thy power?
Yet canst thou without thought or feeling be?
O say, what art thou, when no more thou’rt thee?

Life! we have been long together,
Through pleasant and through cloudy weather;
‘Tis hard to part when friends are dear;
Perhaps ’twill cost a sigh, a tear;—
Then steal away, give little warning,
Choose thine own time;
Say not Good-night, but in some brighter clime
Bid me Good-morning!
By and i keep my fingers crossed

Dear Eva and family,
I just happened upon your site today. I am the mother of a 7 year old with Cystic Fibrosis. She just stayed overnight at her first sleepover with friends this weekend. I tell her often that she is the strongest person I know. She lives each day with joy and sometimes I feel like I am letting her down because of my gripes and cares. Eva, your love shines right through you and into the lives of so many that you have touched. You are truly a remarkable young woman and an inspiration to many. You must also have amazing parents to have lifted you up in this way. I am keeping you in my thoughts.

Hey Eva,
I saw a documentary about You the other day in Polish TV (yea, it seems you’ve got quite a fanbase here now) and just can’t stop thinking about You. Words cannot describe what I feel and I know none of my words will ease your pain but I just want to tell You that I admire You for Your strength and will to fight. That no matter if you’re up or down you keep on going, keep on fighting, and for that – I salute You :)

Eva… my life is cystic fibrosis too…. In my country of Poland a lung transplant is not available and my only hope and rescue is a clinic in Vienna (AKH). CF has destroyed my lungs and now my only chance to survive is a double lung transplant…

Thanks so much for your message Rena.

Eva is unable to respond right now, but she’d like me to let you know that she hopes you receive new lungs soon.

Stay strong,

Eva, I wrote this to you on Facebook on Monday, but I figure this is probably a better way for you to see/hear this:

“I am sad to say that I had not heard your story until yesterday. I thought about sending you a card, but I’m afraid that the mail may take longer than I’d like.

I just want to say that knowing of you and your story for less than a day, I am deeply touched by your story. I stayed up watching your videos, reading your blog, and being so moved by your words and your attitude.

I cannot imagine what these days must be like for you, but I love that from your photos, it seems as though you’re doing your best to soak up every moment surrounded by those you love as well as those who love you.

Thank you for sharing your story. For sharing these intimate moments of hope, happiness, sadness, confusion, despair, etc. Most people wouldn’t want to show the “weaker” moments, but your ability to set your pride aside and share those moments bring encouragement to those with CF or waiting for organ donation. The awareness that it’s also bringing forward is fantastic, and I hope that people who aren’t donors now will come to know your story, and come to know that organ donation saves lives.

I’m praying for you and for your family, and I would love nothing more than to just be able to give you a hug. However, I’m in Texas and you’re in Canada. That distance is too far. Just know that you’re touching lives all over the world with your smile and your story.

I don’t know you, so I feel like this is weird to say, but I love you. I love you for sharing and for not giving up. I love you for
wanting nothing more than to love and to be loved back.

The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return, right?

I only wish I’d heard your story sooner.

Love, love, love.”

Wow, for all the people that have followed your journey, I believe you will all agree that we must consider donating our organs be it lung, kidney, eyes or what ever is possible. This young lady sure deserved another, unfortunately I suffer from diabetis and can not donate and it breaks my heart. Thank you for for all your true feelings that you shared with us and God Bless You. From a gramma with Grandchildren your age.

So many people are writening to You from Poland, me too. I saw Your story. You are fighter. You will win. I am sure!!! I keep my fingers and wish You all the best. It is not the end Eva !!!

I’m impressed about your strenght and faith. I hope you will win this battle

Eva, Oh boy have I cried this morning. You are such a blessing. Thanks for sharing your life with everyone. I am the mother of a 23 year old boy with Cystic Fibrosis. Michael is on the active lung transplant list and we are playing the all famous waiting game. We live in Lancaster, South Carolina. I will make sure that you live on in the memories of the people in South Carolina. Your legacy will LIVE on! I will infuse my facebook page with your videos. I can be reached on facebook at Judithsmh@yahoo.com for any of the families affected by CF that might like to talk.

Good bye Eva, You were so strong, so loving, so beautiful . Your message has been heard by the world and hopefully donors now will realize how very important it is to say that they wan’t to help. Be peacefull and painless and know that others you have left behind will take up your battle and continue on. The little red haired girl will never be forgotten. My prayers go out to your parents and siblings and your special friends across the world. Love to all. Brenda xxxoooxxx

This is all so real to me as my granddaugher “Faith” has C.F. and what her demise will be. I would give my life for her. Eva, please look out for all the children as their Gardian Angel and I will do my best down here.

Faith sends her LOVE too,

I am thankful for having the opportunity to view such a powerful message that Eva sent. I can say my heart goes out to all of you. Eva is reason enough to become an organ donor, I shall now enlist myself as a donor. May memories, love and prayer carry you, as you embrace Eva’s legacy.

God Bless
